We asked our team why they love living in Poole.
Golden beaches are only ever a short drive, cycle or walk away, no matter where in Poole you live. Branksome Chine, Canford Cliffs, Shore Road and Sandbanks beaches are a few of our favourite spots for a beach day or a walk along the front with the family.
We’re renowned for our sailing and water sports pursuits but we don’t stop there. Golf, football, rugby and tennis clubs are a plenty and there are many gyms and leisure centres to choose from.
We have culture too! Poole Museum, Scaplen’s Court Museum sit close to Poole Quay. The Lighthouse Theatre offers a cinema, plays, musicals, live events/talks, pantomimes, local events and comedy nights galore.
We’re close to the New Forest National Park, RSPB Arne Nature Reserve, Wareham River, Agglestone Rock and have the National Trust’s Brownsea Island on our doorstep.
Compton Acres, Poole Park, Upton Country Park, Holes Bay Nature Park, Hamworthy Park and Studland Bay are just a few of the places we all visit regularly.
We have great links to London (by road and rail) and to Europe and the World beyond (ferries to France and Spain, cruises, Bournemouth Airport and Southampton Airport)
Shopping is easy – Poole Town Centre, Bournemouth Town Centre, Castlepoint Shopping Centre offer the usual array of shops and Ashley Cross and Penn Hill a more localised shopping experience. West Quay Southampton isn’t far away either!
Restaurants, fast food, cafes, bars…you name it you’ll most likely find it here!
Some of our favourites are…Drgnfly, Ashley Cross – The Canford, Canford Cliffs – Shell Bay Restaurant – Oriel, The Quay – The Red Roaster, Ashley Cross (for your daily coffee) - The Goat, Ashley Cross – The Bricklayers, Ashley Cross – The Halfway Fish Bar, Poole (for Friday night Fish n Chips) – Mark Bennetts, Ashley Cross & Penn Hill (for a cheeky pastry at the weekend) – The Avocet, Ashley Cross (for Tuesday night Quiz night) – The Butchers Dog, Ashley Cross – Jenkins, Penn Hill – Ranchos, Poole Quay – South Deep, Parkstone Bay Marina.
Whether you’re single, a couple, a family or retiring you’ll find yourself living in a great community like Parkstone, Branksome, Coy Pond, Ashley Cross, Penn Hill, Lilliput, Whitecliff, Canford Cliffs, Hamworthy, Upton, Creekmoor, Canford Heath, Broadstone, Oakdale and Sandbanks.
